I traded my iPhone 6s for a Blackberry Priv and have regretted since. Now, you said would anyone recommend and iPhones over the PRIV? Yes. It never is choppy and never seems to lag, other than when GPS can't lock on to a position. Other than the heat and battery life, the game/app functions well. While playing expect your phone to die very quickly (mainly because you're outside and you have to have brightness up almost 100%) and for your phone to get very warm. The Priv suffers from mediocre GPS performance as well as it's biggest issues being battery life and phone temperature. I have been using the Priv to play Pokèmon Go. I don't know your situation, what you'll be using yours for, or what your experience is with the iPhone, but I can say that I, personally, rate the Priv above it. The software is phenomenal for maintaining multiple emails (I maintain five), great for organizing everything into one place, and overall just better, in my opinion, than that of the iPhone. Further, the Priv has expandable storage, a very well calibrated AMOLED screen, a solid camera, and quick charging. The iPhone just doesn't do what I need it to, nor do I like it's VKB, which is a major factor for me.

I prefer the Priv in almost every way save battery life, but I suspect that that'll be fixed with the Marshmallow update I'm supposed to be getting here soon (it won't install on my ATT Priv due to a hardware malfunction caused by damage sustained with the Army). I can't answer the Pokémon Go question, but I can say that I use both the iPhone and my Priv (iPhone for civilian work, BlackBerry for military and college related matters).
